Call for Directors

Call for DirectorsOnce again, spring is on its way, and it’s time to reflect on the past 12 months. I’m pleased to say that we have achieved some big milestones over the last year: The launch of our first ever international design competition; and the signing of our first MOU with the Green Building Council of Australia, both of which have been great successes. We continue to foster partnerships; plan and deliver leadership events, networking and training; and build our project team support capability to make a visible difference, demonstrating ‘what good looks like’ in Australia.

To keep that momentum going, we are seeking additional Board members to help deliver our equally big plans for 2017 and beyond. In accordance with the Company Constitution, we are excited to invite Members to nominate individuals for stand for Director positions on the Board of the LFIA.

We’re looking to further enrich our current, diverse mix of team players. We are particularly keen to find people looking for a way to make a valuable, high-energy contribution to our industry and create positive change. The role is for 12-24 months, and will require a minimum of a couple of hours a week. This is not a gig for just talkers – if you are a walker and a talker, then you’re what we’re after.

We are building a reputation as the go-to place for disruptive thinking. We do this by communicating an ideal vision for our future. This single, hopeful and consistent activity, like a lighthouse, connects people who share that vision.

We promote the best frameworks for doing restorative, regenerative work on the planet. We connect the people with the desire and vision to the frameworks which will enable them, and celebrate their achievements.

Our key programs for 2017 are:
• Establishment of Declare in Australia
• Supporting Australian Projects pursuing the Challenge
• Delivering a One Day conference like nothing ever seen in Australia.

If you’re interested, or you think you know someone who would answer this call, we would love to hear from you. The application form, along with some of the finer details of the role and our expectations of you if you put your hand up for it, is attached to this letter.

What we see is a world which works through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offence or the disadvantage of anyone, but as Seth Godin says: ‘We don’t know what you see…we need your contribution, your vision, your truth…not the truth, but the truth of the world as you see it and as you wish it to be.’

Can’t wait to hear from you.
Best,

Mary Casey
Chair of the Board
