7 April at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung land, Melbourne Victoria
Chadstone Place is the first building in Australia to achieve the Living Future Zero Carbon Certification. Zero Carbon requires a building to:
- Reduce embodied carbon
- Offset 100% of embodied carbon emissions remaining
- Achieve best practice energy efficiency
- No Combustion
- Be 100% powered by renewable energy (on or off-site) and show performance over 12 months
This remarkable, first of its kind building, achieves demonstrated decarbonisation and it was delivered on time and on budget. Join us to explore just how they did it.
Learning Level
This case study is appropriate for anyone. No prerequisite courses or knowledge are required; however, an understanding of regenerative design and zero carbon frameworks for the built environment may provide additional valuable context.
Learning Objectives
- Explore the Zero Carbon Certification Framework
- Understand how this framework was applied to this project
- Identify how to use Zero Carbon to meet the goals of developers and tenants
- Identify opportunities for application in your own practice
