SPEAKERS

Samson Tiew, Director ODO – Architect and interior design for Cancer Council Victoria, 2024 Winner

Samson Tiew is an architect and design thinker. His personal motto is to fuse exploratory practices with practical explorations, arriving at novel and extraordinary design outcomes that are grounded in buildability and pragmatism. Samson believes that nature is our best educator. As we continue to advance as a society, his  first principles approach reverts to nature and vernacular origins to derive workable modern outcomes.

Dr Pippa Soccio is a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO. With a PhD in Architecture (Building Science), Pippa advocates for designers to view indoor environment quality (IEQ) as a multi-sensory design problem, and to leverage holistic solutions and synergies between IEQ, energy efficiency and biophilia.
